Day-by-Day Itinerary – Lemosho 7 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi / Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, transfer to hotel in Moshi. Meet guides and porters, review your trekking gear, and attend an orientation covering route overview, safety tips, and acclimatization advice. Overnight in Moshi hotel to rest and prepare for the trek.

Day 2: Londorossi Gate → Shira 1 Camp (Approx. 10 km, 4–5 hours)

Start the trek from Londorossi Gate through dense rainforest. Observe unique wildlife such as monkeys and birds, and enjoy lush vegetation. Gradually ascend to Shira 1 Camp situated on the Shira Plateau. Scenic views of surrounding valleys and Kibo Peak. Camp overnight and rest.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp → Shira 2 / Moir Camp (Approx. 7–10 km, 4–5 hours)

Continue across the Shira Plateau, witnessing giant heathers, lava cliffs, and dramatic vistas. The trail is gentle, allowing your body to adjust to higher altitude. Reach Shira 2 / Moir Camp for overnight camping and acclimatization. Optional short hikes around the camp for extra adaptation.

Day 4: Shira 2 / Moir Camp → Barranco Camp (Approx. 10 km, 5–6 hours)

Descend slightly then traverse towards Barranco Camp. Cross through moorland and alpine desert, seeing rare plants and rocky formations. Enjoy views of Barranco Wall. Arrive at Barranco Camp for overnight. Optional acclimatization hikes and rest for summit preparation.

Day 5: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp (Approx. 5 km, 3–4 hours)

Climb the Barranco Wall, a challenging but short ascent. Enjoy panoramic views and photo opportunities. Trek to Karanga Valley, descending slightly to Karanga Camp. Spend the night resting and hydrating for the upcoming summit attempt.

Day 6: Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp → Summit → Mweka Camp (Approx. 12–15 km, 12–14 hours)

Begin early morning hike to Barafu Camp for final summit preparation. Rest briefly, then start the midnight summit climb. Trek through rocky alpine desert to Stella Point and continue to Uhuru Peak. Witness a breathtaking sunrise over glaciers and valleys. Begin descent to Mweka Camp for overnight rest and recovery. This is the most demanding and rewarding day of the trek.

Day 7: Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate → Departure (Approx. 10–12 km, 4–6 hours)

Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Celebrate your achievement and receive your summit certificate. Transfer to hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro International Airport for onward travel. End of the 7-day Lemosho Kilimanjaro climb.
